Peace For The Broken Hearted

Good Morning all, once again I hope this latest post finds you well & I pray you will be blessed by it. This week for me has been truly insightful & I wanted to shared some of the things God has taught me  with regards to peace, trust and emotional healing.

The things we do day to day such as work or school can sometimes mask the true emotions that we harbour and carry around with us inwardly. This week almost out of nowhere I was able to reflect and listen to my heart and spirit. Sometimes you have to stop moving and be still so you can hear clearly. One of the most important things we have to do is be honest with ourselves & I found myself facing my emotions head on. What came out, or what I was able to say to myself was Ferai, you are still very much emotionally broken, still hurting, still dealing with abandonment issues, still dealing with trust issues & still dealing with love issues. Now this entire blog focuses on the broken hearted and emotional healing, but this is still a process I myself am going through. The one question which stood out to me and one I posed to God through the course of this week was ‘how does one attain true inner peace?’. Not outwardly, but inwardly; how does one become totally at peace with themselves, with others around them and most importantly, truly have peace with Christ.

Hosea 2:14-20

14 ‘Therefore I am now going to allure her;
I will lead her into the wilderness
    and speak tenderly to her.

I always thought that if God were to speak audibly it would sound like thunder, but its the sweetest voice you will ever hear. A voice of hope, a voice conveying the fullness of His love for us. You see it is in the wilderness that God is able to deal with us truly, thoroughly. From this place of brokenness God himself allures us, calling us to find rest. Whatever your issue, whatever you struggle with, Christ Himself stands with you calling you to find rest in Him.

Jeremiah 18

At the potter’s house

18 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: ‘Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.’ So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

Then the word of the Lord came to me. He said, ‘Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?’ declares the Lord. ‘Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

God wants to mold us, to restore us and build us. Christ gives us free will in everything, we have a choice; to continue to endure the hardship and emotional turmoil of brokeness, or to let God truly take control. What I have learnt is that God wants to mold & shape us into the perfect vessel. A vessel in which He can display His wholenesss and full glory. He is saying Ferai, will you not give yourself to me? Will you not rest in my hand and let me finish the work I started in you. Let me shape you and give you a solid cast, let me heal your wounds, let me have all of you. When God looks at me, He knows all the issues I have before I even begin to list them, He knows the details of every heart break, every loss and every tear I have shed. One thing I know is that I can trust in Him. God cannot lie, not that he does not, He simply cannot. I have had to learn to trust Him with everything & I’m still learning.

It’s a very hard thing to do when you have been broken hearted or have trust issues. I was so used to having to protect myself or having no one to fight for me, that me letting go and giving everything to God was & is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. For me It was a really scary thing to do and at times it still can be, but its something you have to do with a leap of faith in order for God to take you to the next level. Don’t be afraid, the love of God is boundless. Our God is a jealous God, he wants all of us, not half of us, so unless we are able to take this step, we will never have the fullness of peace that He desires us to have.

Hosea 2

‘Rebuke your mother, rebuke her,
for she is not my wife,
and I am not her husband.
Let her remove the adulterous look from her face
and the unfaithfulness from between her breasts.

He wants our whole entire being, He wants our whole heart. There is hope and a promise of a future in God, but He does not want us to fix our eyes upon the promise, He wants us to fix our eyes upon the God of the promise. God wants to marry himself to us & work and cleanse us so that we are fit for marriage. We are His brides, His most prized possession. He wants that which lies between our breasts, our heart and He wants to guard it as a husband would protect the heart of his wife. God wants us to trust in Him, believe in Him truly and He wants to nurture us intimately. If we don’t trust Him fully it’s like a wife not being faithful in her marriage. Do not look around you, look to God in all things.

Leviticus 24

Olive oil and bread set before the Lord

24 The Lord said to Moses, ‘Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.

The Lord wants to deal with us through and through, slaying and removing every impurity. We are His, we are precious, we were bought at a price the highest price there is. Christ died for us, so never be lead to believe He can give up on you. He truly is the author and finisher.

I pray that God will do whatever He needs to do with me to restore me back to that which He wrote over my life in the beginning. I want Him to crush me under the full weight of His love. I want Him to press me and draw out the clear and pure oil from within, the oil that can burn and never go out that my light may shine brightly. God wants to restore the broken hearted and bring you to a place of peace, true peace.

Jeremiah 1

The call of Jeremiah

The word of the Lord came to me, saying,

‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew[a] you,
    before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.’

When I read this I see restoration, restoration back to what was written concerning our lives. This is the moment when Jeremiah found out who he really was and is. When I look at this God is saying Ferai, you are mine, I am your God, your father & your husband. I know you, the you that you youself have yet to see. You are my child a woman of God, this day I am restoring you to what I have written concerning you, what I have ordained and planned for your life I am giving you this day. Whatever happened before this day I will wipe it out as though it did not happen because you are Holy before me.

All the hurt, all the pain you are feeling, God can wipe it out just like that. We talk about restoration, but do we really understand. Do we understand that when God says restoration He means it. Full restoration, a kind that cannot be mimicked. God wants us to be totally transformed into the person He ordained us to be. God is able to remove all the hurt just like that, in the blinking of an eye. He is able to remove whatever issues we have, whatever struggles we have. There is power in the name Jesus, healing power that is able to remove all our iniquities in less than a split second. Everything that has been said about you, every name that man has ever called you counts for nothing, all the lies that have been spoken over your life stand for nothing. No man can curse what God has not cursed & no man can call what God has deemed clean unclean. The name of Jesus can remove everything that stands contrary to what God has said concerning you in an instant.

Zechariah 3

Clean garments for the high priest

3 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan[a] standing at his right side to accuse him. The Lord said to Satan, ‘The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?’

Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, ‘Take off his filthy clothes.

Then he said to Joshua, ‘See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.’

When Joshua stood before God, God was able to remove every iniquity from Him just like that. It wasn’t a process it was instant. He gave him new garments. Every lie that satan has spoken concerning you, lies of failure, lies of you not being worthy, God wants to take them away from you just like that, all He asks is that you stand before Him. Stand before Him and be made whole. Be honest with yourself & with Christ, let Him carry your burden and destroy it. Let Him purify you as silver or gold are purified. Let Him put you through His cleansing fire and remove the dross.

I pray that this very day the Lord will renew my strength, renew my mind. I want Him to change the way I see myself. This is not about man, we don’t have anything to prove to anyone, and even beyond that we don’t even have anything to prove to God because He knows us. All He asks is for us to give the whole of ourselves up for Him, let go and let God.

I hope you have been blessed by this post, I pray that God will teach us His way, but so that we have true understanding of His love, this fullness and depth of it. I pray that He will guide us to His place of rest & help us find peace within. There is nothing He is not able to do we just need to turn to Him fully and give everything we are and have to Him.
